Did anyone see Jackson state "celebrating Christmas not a df'ing offence"?
by Crazyguy ini have seen posts on several you tube sites stating that jackson said during his rc testimony that jw's don't shun, celebrating christmas is not a disfellowshipping offence, birthdays are ok and ones doesn't have to agree with jw doctrine.
i have read most of the posts on other threads while and after his testimony but never read any of this?
did he really say these things or is someone on the net just stirring up some bs?.

Is there any statement in the literature, including elder's handbooks, that says the celebration of any holiday is a disfellowshippable offence? -

Is that actually a JW trolley or just a generic picture? If it's authentic what happened to it? -

Inspiration, inscripturation
by Doug Mason inthe apostle paul stated at 2 timothy 3:16: all scripture is inspired of god.
the phrase inspired of god translates the compound greek word theopneustos, meaning, literally, god-breathed or breathed by god.
this is the only occurrence of this greek term in the scriptures.

Doug Mason:
"Thus, theologians have always said that [“inscripturation”] is an action of God (described in II Peter 1:21) which He carried out only in the giving of the original autographs, and it applies neither to copies or translations. This is what Christians have always believed. The Bible says nothing of any “re-inspiration”, a second direct act by God of immediate inspiration, in copies or translations. … A copy, unlike the inscripturated original, can contain errors. … II Peter 1:21 tells us that the Holy Spirit moved holy men to write the Scriptures. It says nothing about copies."
If God's intention was to communicate something to mankind that determined the fate of every individual by torturing him eternally if he doubted his "Word" then he had a moral responsibility to insure that the Bible would remain perfect so as to not stumble us. If he wrote it perfectly he should have kept it perfect making sure that it would not get corrupted to the point where it has become questionable.

PDF of Advice for Kingdom Publishers (1939)
by MrMonroe ini'm hoping to obtain a copy of the 1939 booklet advice for kingdom publishers.
it's a 16-page booklet that was written, i understand, to help us publishers as they embarked on the very vigorous witnessing campaigns that were largely aimed at provoking police and governments to take action against them.
i'm particularly interested in what specific advice they were given about creating or avoiding situations likely to result in their arrest.

They should have just conjured up Genesis 6:3 and stated that the generation was 120 years long ending in 2034. Sure, that would be only 20 years from until it has to be scrapped but the Governing Body members would be dead by then so they may not care. -

"Is there a 'generation history' for dummies posted anywhere? my timeline is all messed up now and can't remember all the changes going way back to present." There are more details to it but the basic 1914 teachings from the beginning of the organization in the 1870s comes out to this:
- From the late 19th century to the early 20th century they taught that the last days was a period of time from 1799-1914. Armageddon was a period of time from 1874-1914. It was to be a slow motion social collapse. No apocalyptic wars or earthquakes. The Millennium was to begin on 1914.
- When that was falsified by historical reality they started teaching that 1914 was the beginning of the end with the lifespan of a "generation" from 1914 being the limit. At first the 'generation' consisted of adults. Then in the 1980s it was trimmed down to adolescents. Soon after it included children.
- In the 1990s they started teaching some incomprehensible idea about a hiatus after 1914.
- Now they teach the 'overlapping generations' doctrine.

one passage of scripture that i've missed until now is 30:37 where it says how joseph got all the sheep to be stripey etc ( btw have you ever seen a stripey sheep?
cos i certainly haven't!).

I knew about that one. It's a clear example of magic and the Bible is supposed to be against magic. -
